Glowpatch Stars - Performance Guide |

The following information has been set up for current and new Glowpatch customers to ensure that you will get the correct illusion from your glow in the dark stars. |

How your star ceiling should look: |
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
| |
|
*When you first enter your dark room you should not see all your stars. |
|
|
| |
|
*Your ceiling should already have a blackness to it that will intensify. |
|
|
| |
|
*After around 30 minutes you will see your full star ceiling effect. |
|
|
| |
|
*There will be a full range of stars from very bright to very faint. |
|
|
| |
|
*High star movement will be clearly visible. (XVR only) |
|
|
| |
|
|
|

|
If your star ceiling does not look as described above then one or more of the following may apply to you. |
|

Problem 1 |
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
| |
|
My stars all look quite even in brightness and don't seem to have much variation or a twinkling effect? |
|
|
| |
|
Cause |
|
|
| |
|
Your stars are exposed to strong light right before viewing and as a result are far over charged. In this case your variation and the twinkling effect will begin several hours after lights out. |
|

| |
|
Remedy |
|
|
| |
|
To test the problem don't use your room light at all, allow afternoon daylight in your room until sunset and then have no further light. If you need some light before going to bed have your door open and allow light to come in from somewhere else that will not effect the charging of the stars. When you have determined that your light is the problem you can fix it by lowering the strength of your globe, using a light dimmer, using a low watt lamp or use only TV light. |

Problem 2 |

|
My ceiling does not look like black space and my stars are not very bright? |
|
|
| |
|
Cause |
|
|
| |
|
The brightness of your stars and the blackness of your ceiling will be determined by the darkness of your room. If you don't have a perfect star ceiling you simply have too much interfering light in your room: Street light, Moon Light, Air Conditioning L.E.D light hitting the ceiling, bright L.E.D clocks, Computers, Optical Mice, Stereos, other glow products etc. |

Remedy |

| |
|
You need to find the interfering light and remove it or obscure it. If outside light is the problem you can fit block out curtains or if you have a lot of gadgets place some black tape over all the LEDs.
The XVR Star Kits are affected by interfering light just as with the real night sky, if there is a full moon the moonlight will drown out the real stars and the same applies with my micro stars. In order for the XVR to create a super realistic night sky it must be in a dark room. If your room is not dark enough some of your movement stars and faint stars will not be visible and you will not have your full star ceiling effect. |

When I get up at night and come back to my room I can't see all the stars? |

|
Cause |
|
|
| |
|
If you walk away from your bedroom at night and your micro stars are bright then you use a powered light in another room and come back to your dark room, don’t expect to see them correctly until your eyes re-adjust to the dark. It will take your eye's 30+ minutes to adjust to the darkness after seeing any powered light. |

Remedy |

|
Don't leave the room?. If you must leave the room have very dim lighting wherever you need to go so that your eyes don't completely change there dark adjusted state. This way it may only take a few minutes to see your full star ceiling effect when you return to your dark room. |

Important |

You cannot take the stars as I mail them to you in the pack and tape them to your ceiling to see how they work, they must be separated as stated in the instructions. If you don't give the micro stars this separation then they will simply not work. |
